Outline
of the course:
This
course will explore (1) the global and East Asian issues of trade, investment, development, energy,and the environment, and (2) East Asian integration.
Various means of education will
be utilized including the traditional in-class lectures, on-line lectures, group
presentations, and lots of discussions.
Prerequisites:
Basic knowledge of principles of economics would be of help.
Textbook:
Various
online sources such as World Bank, OECD, IMF, UN, The Economist, etc.
Grading:
Mid-term exam (30%)
Final exam (30%)
Assignments (30%)
Attendance (10%, absence of more than five times will result in automic failure of the class)
Bonus: Class participation (10%)
Take-home assignments:
Will be explained in class.
